The Design and Function of Glass Waterpipe Percs

The Design and Function of Glass Waterpipe Percs

Glass Waterpipe Perc Designs and Their Functionality

When it comes to design and functionality, glass is one of the most versatile materials available. It can be molded in many different shapes and styles.

Have you ever picked up a piece of glass, looked at it, and thought to yourself – what's this all about? Below you'll find information on components inside a good glass piece, including water pipes, bongs, and dab rigs.

What Are Some of The More Popular Types of Bong Percs?

Percolators are water filters designed to help cool down the smoke before reaching your lungs. It accomplishes this by forcing smoke through the water, which helps to break up smoke, making it less harsh and creating a more enjoyable experience. There are many different styles of perc, and each has its benefits and drawbacks. Here's a breakdown of some of the most popular types of percs:

Tree Perc: This perc features multiple "arms" that extend from the bottom of the tube, each ending in a slit or hole. It is excellent at breaking up smoke into tiny bubbles, but not all tree percs are created equal; they can be very different depending on how many arms they have, how many slits or holes there are, and how far those slits or holes extend down the arm. This can also affect how easy it is to clear your pipe or bong.

Showerhead Perc: It looks like a showerhead with multiple holes visible in the bottom; it works similarly to the tree perc but creates more giant bubbles. This may be a good choice if you want more diffusion without sacrificing too much flavor.

Diffused Downstem: It is one of the best percolators you can get in a bong. Several slits at the bottom diffuse the smoke, allowing it to pass through the water and cool down before entering your lungs.

Disc Percs: It is made entirely of glass, like all the other percs. But unlike all the others, this one has been specially designed to create miniature bubbles with every pull—so it's guaranteed to give you the smooth experience you're looking for.

Turbine Perc: This one is not easy to recognize because it looks like a tiny glass turbine in your bong or dab rig. As you add water to the chamber, it'll swirl around in a circle and come up through the sides of the turbine, which creates tiny bubbles and helps filter out any impurities from your smoke.

It's also an excellent way to ensure you're getting as much surface area as possible from your smoke because those bubbles are coming up from all angles!

The turbine is best for those looking for a smooth draw that's easy on their lungs, but if you're going to use one of these, be careful not to add too much water—it needs less than other percs because it moves so fast.

Barrel Percs: Barrel perc is a type of diffusion that works by splitting the water chamber into multiple chambers. This creates a larger surface area and introduces more bubbles than you'd get with single-chamber perc alone: the more bubbles, the more filtration.

The benefit of the barrel design is that it's better suited for dab rigs than other types of percs, which makes them ideal for dabbing concentrates.

A variety of options

There are many additional perc styles available in our store. Many glass water pipes have a combination of perc types. Other factors may weigh in your perc decision including the size of your piece, how much water it holds, airflow: how big of rips you want to be able to get out of it, and whether you are using your glass rig for concentrates or flower.
